This track has gone through a number of versions. The first demo was more bluegrassy, with a rolling banjo part. The version I play live with Rhiannon Shaw is more of a ballad. This version isn't the correct one, really, just the one I happened to record. I wanted an opening with punch.
lyrics
I took my turn in your life,
Once not enough,
I would take all this twice.
But you chose to fall,
To fall way down.
And you chose to fall,
Made your own way out.
I thought you would know me by now.
I'll break through these clouds,
Hour by hour.
But you chose to fall,
To fall way down.
And you chose to fall,
Made your own way out.
Shout loud that you'd see this alive.
But you chose to fall,
To fall way down.
And you chose to fall,
Made your own way out.
And you chose to fall,
To fall way down.
And you chose to fall,
Rather than to drown.
